What custom mods have you made to your bike?
The only major mod I do is cut my bars down a little. I run them just under 28” wide.
What’s the newest part on your bike?
I built a whole new bike up at the end of February, so the whole set up is pretty new.
What’s the oldest part on your bike – any part you just won’t change?
Well, I don’t really like changing my grips until I really need to, or to be honest anything on my bike until it needs it. I find it takes me a little while to get used to new parts on my bike if I haven’t had them before. I jump between the Éclat Zap grips or the United Geoff Slattery grips. They both feel amazing and they’re the only grips I’ve run for the past couple years!
How often do you put together a new set-up?
Well, I would say two full set-ups a year filtered in with components that regularly need replacing.
How good are you at keeping the thing dialled?
I like having a solid feeling bike. I guess that I keep on top of the maintenance as much as I need to for it to feel good for me. The tires have to be hard and the wheels need to be straight! It just makes the bike roll superfast and it just feels amazing.
What else is new – what are you planning next?
Carry on staying healthy, riding and exploring new places with my friends. I’m heading to Lyon in April with some of my buddies to get some French sun and scenery! Can’t wait for that. Work on some new projects with both United and Éclat throughout the coming year. Cal Earnshaw and I have a few ideas for a new video. And United are planning some more projects straight off the back of the full length DVD project, Still United.
