Check this machine out – it’s Paul Ryan‘s new custom Mongoose frame. Handmade by Laird Frames in the USA, this is an incredible piece of work. Using Paul’s personal geo and sizing, this frame measures in with a 20.5″ toptube, a slammed 13″ back end, 75.5º head angle, tons of tyre clearance without the need for S-stays or tube dents, super-tiny dropouts, downtube gusset, full brakeless set-up, and a sweet custom-cut M logo seatstay bridge.

Mongoose pros have custom frames made with specific geometry and to test frame sizes that should eventually end up on the complete bikes. As for the frame here, builder Mike Laird says, “The material I use to build my chromoly frames with is Vari-Wall’s BMX specific Thermlx double-butted or straight gauge tubing. The tubing has been heat-treated (air hardened). Giving it a very high strength to weight ratio over traditional chromoly found in other frames.” For more info, check out the Laird Frames website.
